Satan battles against the Gospel of Christ with deceptions, distractions, and discouragement; using weapons from outside THIS world. Ephesians 6:11-12 (REV) Put on the whole armor of God so that you will be able to stand against the schemes of the Devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. In our struggles with the desires of THIS world; and with the effects of sin (illness, pain, death, and evil), we can easily lose sight of our Savior - Jesus Christ. Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. We need to rely on the power of Christ in our battles against evil. 1 Peter 5:8-9 (REV) Be clearheaded! Be watchful! Your opponent, the Devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Stand firm against him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.
